		<description>I was in my prime as a collector (the first time) in the 80's.  At least until I quit in '84.  There are better designs, ('71, 76, etc.) but I think 1983 was a good year for card designs.  The Topps and Fleer issues were nice and simple, but almost elegant.
I always consider the '80s to be the "default" or basic era, since I bought most of the sets when they were new.  The seventies and before are "vintage", and the 90's is the "glut era".  And new stuff is just new stuff.  Nowadays, I think a lot of people consider 80's to be on the near end of vintage.  I guess I don't want to acknowledge that I'm that old....</description>

		<description>I think the 80's was a real boom in the collector's card world. I still remember cherishing my Kirby Puckett and Art Monk rookie cards for some reason. Mediocre in value, but for whatever reason, I kept 'em close.</description>
